My Favorite Christmas Tradition

Growing up did you and your family have this one thing you had to do every Christmas season? The Henton Family did and that was building gingerbread houses! Go to Walmart and purchase the $10 gingerbread kit that will consume up to 4 hours of your time due to complications of the icing (haha). It literally says EZ build on it....I know you guys have built them before there is no easy build about that house but it brings back some of the best memories for me. I'm sure my brothers would agree that coming together after a long week to sit at the table filled with laughter, happiness, and a touch of aggravation due to the "EZ build" are something that we will hold onto forever. Dad was always the contractor and we were there to decorate...this was a tradition I wanted to keep going with my Rae. It took my dad almost 15 years to learn how to get it to actually stay put together..my sweet Jacob hasn't mastered it yet! He will soon enough because this is something that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Dad. For starting something 20 years ago that I will cherish forever.

Rae took her own twist on the house building..she decided to keep it flat! Didn't want it put together (which Jacob couldn't get it to stay anyways haha) at all! She also wanted control of the icing!! So you have it the Nelson Gingerbread House 2019--
